Brittin, Pollock, Jayawardene inducted in Hall of Fame
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has inducted Jan Brittin, Shaun Pollock and Mahela Jayawardene into the Hall of Fame. Earlier this year, ten players were inducted before the inaugural edition of the WTC final.
Brittin, arguably the greatest batter in Women's Test cricket, still holds the world records of most matches, runs, hundreds and fifty-plus scores in the format. Pollock and Jayawardene, too, led their respective sides, and were legends of the game.

Brisbane Heat beat Sydney Sixers by three wickets at Harrup Park in Mackay. Jess Jonassen and Courtney Sippel shared five wickets to restrict the Sixers to 91/7 even as Nicole Bolton top-scored with 25. Between them, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner got a combined total of six runs.
The Heat chased the target in 14.1 overs with three wickets remaining. Lauren Cheatle picked three wickets in the opening burst to reduce Brisbane to 36/3, which soon became 37/5. But Jonassen (15) and Laura Kimmince (16) took the Heat across the target.
Chanderpaul becomes West Indies Under-19 batting consultant
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has appointed Shivnarine Chanderpaul as a batting consultant for their Under-19 side. The Under-19 World Cup is scheduled to take place in the Caribbean next year in January.
'Shiv has a tremendous amount of cricketing knowledge and know-how and he will be a great addition to the coaching staff,' Jimmy Adams, CWI's director of cricket said.
Western Australia defeat Queensland by five wickets
Jhye Richardson's five-wicket haul skittled out Queensland for 246 in the second innings before Western Australia chased 95 to win by seven wickets. Cameron Bancroft, who got out for a golden duck in the first innings, remained unbeaten on 47.
Richardson finished the match with eight wickets and was named Player of the Match. Josh Phillippe, who struck a century in the first innings, hit the winning boundary. Western Australia are now at the top of the points table.
