Brendan Taylor bid adieu to international cricket

Brendan Taylor confirmed that the third ODI between Zimbabwe and Ireland would be his last for the nation. Taylor scored seven runs before getting bowled by Josh Little in his last ODI.

In a career spanning over 17 years, Taylor represented Zimbabwe in 204 ODIs, 34 Tests and 45 T20Is. Nobody has scored more century for Zimbabwe than Taylor. He also ranks second in the ODI run-scoring chart for his nation.

"It's with a heavy heart that I'm announcing that tomorrow is my last game for my beloved country. '17 years of extreme highs and extreme lows and I wouldn't change it for the world,' Taylor wrote on Twitter.

Hayden, Philander join Pakistan coaching setup

The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Matthew Hayden as a head coach for the men's senior team for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. Further, Vernon Philander has been roped in as a bowling coach.

Before the World Cup, Pakistan are scheduled to play the T20I and ODI series versus New Zealand. Saqlain Mushtaq will fill in as a head coach, with Abdur Razzak as his deputy.

Pakistan are yet to find permanent names for the coaching roles are Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis resigned last month.

BCCI offers to play two extra T20Is

The BCCI has offered to play two extra T20Is next year when they tour England for multi-format assignments, as confirmed by Cricbuzz.

The two T20Is have been offered as compensation for the Manchester Test, where India couldn't field the playing XI. There was a fear among the Indian contingent after the team's physio, Yogesh Parmar, contracted the virus.

'Instead of three T20Is, we will play five T20Is. Alternately, we will be willing to play a one-off Test as well. It is up to them to choose either of the offers,' Shah told Cricbuzz.

Woakes pulls out of IPL 2021

Delhi Capitals will miss the service of Chris Woakes, who has pulled out of the UAE leg of the IPL 2021 due to personal reasons. Woakes became the fourth player after Dawid Malan, Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow withdrew from the second half of the IPL.

Delhi has announced Ben Dwarshuis as his replacement. Dwarshuis is one of the most successful bowlers in the BBL. He plays for Sydney Sixers, and has picked 85 wickets in 69 matches.
