The COVID-19 outbreak has had a major impact on various sporting events around the world. The Indian Premier League is obviously one of them. It was supposed to start on March 29 but the tournament has now been postponed to April 15.

However, even if the tournament takes place, the pandemic has put a big question over the participation of overseas players in IPL 2020. The Australian Cricket Board had already confirmed that it has left the decision to the players themselves and as far as recent developments are considered, David Warner is one Australian player who has put his hand up to participate if the tournament takes place at all.

As stated in a report by The Age, the Australian international’s manager has confirmed that Warner is fully intending to come to India if the IPL happens. However, that is dependent on the current scenario and the decision might change according to the forthcoming situations.

Warner was supposed to take the reigns back as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad this year. He had to miss IPL 2018 due to the Sandpapergate scandal but he played last year as a player. Not only that, he ended the tournament as the highest run-getter too, thus winning the Orange Cap as well.

The southpaw had even led the Sunrisers to the IPL title in 2016 and would be eager to repeat the feat this year as well.
