Preview

Delhi Capitals have had a roller-coaster start to the IPL 2020 season with two wins and a loss in the three matches so far. The Shreyas Iyer-led unit has been ruthless on the bowling front with Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje stifling teams in the powerplay overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, have missed no chances to showcase their young guns in the team. From Shubman Gill to Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti, the young crop of Indian players have stood neck and crop above the rest.

Kolkata Knight Riders will once again bank on their big hitting batsmen on the small Sharjah ground while Kagiso Rabada and co will be tasked with putting a leash on the scoring rate.

For Delhi, Rishabh Pant will need to come good and they will hope the left-hander can take the attack to the Kolkata bowling attack to take them to a commendable total. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw too might want to start off quicker tonight.

Team news and predicted XI

Kolkata are expected to be unchanged for this game with their team combination working out perfectly in the last two matches. They will, however, ponder moving Narine down the order to accomodate Rana or Karthik at the top.

Delhi might have Ravichandran Ashwin returning. In case he does, Axar Patel or Amit Mishra will have to sit out, the leggie, despite his good match might make way.

Delhi Capitals

Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma

Kolkata Knight Riders

Shubman Gill, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (c, wk), Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy

Fantasy tips

  • Stay away from an out-of-form Sunil Narine as his bowling might be negated by the pitch and his batting by Delhi pacers.
  • Kagiso Rabada is a fine pick given that he bowls death overs but it’s safer to not have him as captain.
  • KKR showed they will use Russell flexibly last game and at Sharjah, a venue for six-hitting, expect Russell to come in early again. A definite captaincy choice.
  • Rishabh Pant will have the advantage of short boundaries too as will Eoin Morhan. Both are good picks for this wicket.
