Former Indian cricketer and NCA head Rahul Dravid was spotted in Indian cricket team’s training session on Friday. Virat and team are currently preparing for the same in Bangalore ahead of the third and final T20I against South Africa at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Sunday.
India with 1-0 lead are all set to take on the Proteas on Sunday for the last match of the ongoing T20 series. The team already reached the venue and began their practice on Friday. During the training session, the legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid met the boys and was spotted with Indian coach and captain. The Indian cricket board took to the social media and shared a photo of Dravid standing with Ravi Shastri. The caption of the picture read, “When two greats of Indian Cricket meet.”
As the head coach of India A and India U19 teams Dravid had a huge role in shaping the future of Indian cricket. It was under his guidance that the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar could make to the national side. Former Indian captain is still busy in the same duty as the head of cricket at NCA from July 2019. Dravid, who always talked about nurturing the players from grassroots, has been into the job since his retirement.
After the washed out match at Dharamshala, Kohli led his team to win the second match of the series by scoring a brilliant 72 off 52 where Deepak Chahar emerged as the best bowler of the side with two wickets. Now the focus is to win the final one to bag the series. A few days back the coach and skipper shared their game plan for the T20 World Cup in 2020. As they mentioned each game before the series would be important. Winning this series will definitely take the team one step ahead to the goal.
As a local boy and ex player, Dravid’s inputs will be beneficial for the management and team for the final clash in the weekend.
