The England and Wales Cricket Board announced their schedule for the big 2021 summer on Wednesday, including the high octane Test series against India.
The five-match Test series is due to begin from 4th August at Trent Bridge and will be concluded on 14th September at Old Trafford, the last place India played when they last visited England in 2019, during the World Cup.
Apart from these two venues, Lord’s, Emerald Headingley and the Kia Oval will host the second, third and fourth Test match respectively.
The Test series against India is due to conclude the Men’s international summer, which will begin with a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka on 29th June, followed by a three ODI and three T20I series against Pakistan which begins on 8th July.
Given that the BCCI have announced October-November 2021 as the timeline for next year’s T20 World Cup, the Test series against England should be their last assignment before they begin their campaign to win the first T20 title in 14 years. India haven’t won a Test series in England for the same time.
In fact, they have only managed to win two out of 14 Test matches in this time period, losing 11 of them.
Virat Kohli and co., who are currently stationed down under, will be looking for big summers in Australia and England to finally be called the best Indian red-ball overseas team.
