The fifth match of this year's Test series between England and India, scheduled at Old Trafford, had to be postponed indefinitely in the aftermath of a Covid-19 scare in the Indian camp. It has now been rescheduled to 1 July 2022, at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
India currently lead the five-match series by 2-1. They will be eyeing their first away series win in England since 2007.
'We are very pleased that we have reached an agreement with BCCI to creating a fitting end to what has been a brilliant series so far,' stated ECB chief Tom Harrison. “We recognise that accommodating this extra match means a tighter schedule for the white-ball series.'
The limited-overs leg on the same tour has been postponed by six days. Three T20Is and three ODIs are lined up. The first T20I will be played on 7 July in Southampton, while the ODI series starts from 12 July.
