Kinchit Shah starred with both ball (3-22) and bat (58 in 34 balls) to help Hong Kong Cricket Club win the Hong Kong Premier League with a six-wicket win over Kowloon Cricket Club in the final of the competition in Wong Nai.
Kowloon posted 170/8 after they were asked to bat. Babar Hayat (33) and Aizaz Khan (33) got them off to a blistering start. They added 57 in 37 balls before Hayat nicked Charlie Wallis (2-31) to Adit Gorawara in the seventh over.
Jamie Atkinson (25), Simandeep Singh (31), and Waqas Barkat (27 in 15) carried the momentum, and steered Kowloon CC to a challenging total. At No. 9, Dan Pascoe also played an unbeaten six-ball 12.
Coming to the chase, Hong Kong CC lost Martin Coetzee in the opening over. Nizakat Khan (24) and Kinchit then held the fort, adding 54 runs in 37 balls before Dan Pascoe caught and bowled Nizakat in the eighth over.
But Kinchit was unmoved from the other end. He struck six fours and three sixes in his innings, and stitched a 33-run stand with Ninad Shah (19), and then another 21 with Gorawara (35*) before Ahan Trivedi trapped him leg before.
Hong Kong CC were 110/4 in 12 overs when Kinchit fell. Gorawara and Haroon Arshad (35*) forged an unbroken 64 in 40 balls to finish things off with eight balls to spare.
