Smriti Mandhana, the vice captain of the Indian women's team, has been added to the list of "100% Cricket Superstars" issued on Friday by the International Cricket Council, joining Shafali Verma, a young opener.
Shafali Verma, Sophie Ecclestone of England, Amelia Kerr of New Zealand, Hayley Matthews of the West Indies, and Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa were the initial crop of the "100% Cricket Superstars" lineup that fans would ultimately choose from to select a final XI.
Five more athletes joined the campaign on Friday, according to the ICC: Mandhana, Fatima Sana (Pakistan), Ashleigh Gardner (Australia), Sophia Dunkley (England), and Gaby Lewis (Ireland).
Mandhana, 26, is almost completing ten year of playing cricket internationally. She has made a name for herself as one of the world's most complete all-format players. Her track record speaks for itself, combining top-of-the-order aggression with a strong propensity for scoring some big runs.
In 74 ODIs, Mandhana has amassed 2,892 runs at an average of 42.52, with five centuries and 23 fifty-pluses. She has 2,192 runs in 92 games of T20I cricket, including 16 half-centuries. Mandhana has also taken part in four Test matches, where he has scored one century and two half-centuries.
In addition, as Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami's era of Indian women's cricket ends, Mandhana has become a leader in the sport.
As a result of her consistency, she was awarded the 2021 ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year and placed 10th and fourth, respectively, in the ICC Women's Player Rankings for batters in ODIs and T20Is.
