The 2023 and 2025 ICC World Test Championship finals will be held at The Lord's Cricket Ground, the ICC said on Tuesday during its annual conference in Birmingham.
Before it was changed to Southampton, Lord's was also originally designated as the location for the World Test Championship final (2019–2021).
The ICC Board also authorised FTPs for 2023–2027 for both men and women during the conference; the schedule will be released soon.
VVS Laxman and Daniel Vettori were confirmed as the current player representatives on the ICC Men's Cricket Committee, among other news. Former West Indies cricketer Roger Harper will join Mahela Jayawardene as the second past player representation on the committee.
The election for the ICC's new Chair, which will take place in November 2022, was also accepted by the international cricket governing body. Simple majority voting will determine the winner, and the chosen Chair's two-year term will begin on December 1, 2022, and end on November 30, 2024.
The Afghanistan Working Group provided the ICC with an update, and the organisation also learned about the state of women's cricket in the nation.
Imran Khwaja (Chair), Ross McCollum, Lawson Naidoo, and Ramiz Raja were chosen as the group's members to assess the state of the Afghanistan Cricket Board and cricket in the nation when it was established in November 2021. In the upcoming weeks, representatives of the ICC will meet with ACB and government authorities.
