Scotland will aim for the first win in the Super 12s when they take on Namibia at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday, 27 October. This will be the first match for Namibia in the Super 12s, while Scotland are coming on the back of a heavy 130-run loss to Afghanistan.
Against Afghanistan, Scotland's weakness against spin was exposed, as nine wickets fell against the duo of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Only George Munsey appeared to be at ease, and he top-scored 25.
Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross and Michael Leask all failed to score, and Scotland were left reeling at 38/6 by the seventh over.
The sides have met twice so far, and Namibia have won both matches. Scotland will want to change that equation. Mark Watt has been their most consistent bowler. Even when they conceded 190 against Afghanistan, Watt leaked just 23 in his four overs.
Namibia, on the other hand, have so far banked on the batting heroics of David Wiese and Gerhard Erasmus. The duo helped Namibia win against Ireland. Erasmus scored 51, while Wiese got a quick 28. They have another consistent batter in Craig Williams. Among bowlers, Jan Frylinck, J.J. Smit and Ruben Trumpelmann will head the pace attack, while Pikky Ya France is expected to be the main spinner.
