The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to send five reserve players to the Caribbean after Covid-19 has hit the Indian camp.
Udhay Saharan, Rishith Reddy, Ansh Gosai, P.M. Singh Rathore and wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel, the five cricketers, will be required to undergo a self-isolation for six days.
Ahead of their match against Ireland, four players, including captain Yash Dhull, tested positive, while two others showed symptoms. India played with their only 11 available cricketers, and still to beat Ireland by 174 runs.
'Yes, the board has decided to send five reserve players to the Caribbean. They will undergo six-day isolation upon reaching. We are hoping that the team tops their Group B so that everyone is fit and available for the quarterfinal clash on January 29,' a BCCI source told ANI.
