England Under-19s v Canada Under-19s

England 320/7 in 50 overs (Tom Prest 93; Kairav Sharma 3-51) beat Canada 214 in 48.1 overs (Gurnek Johal Singh 44; Joshua Boyden 4-44) by 106 runs. Player of the Match: Tom Prest.

Tom Prest starred with bat (93) and ball (3-38) to help England beat Canada by 106 runs in Match 11 of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 in Basseterre. Batting first, England piled 320/7 and then bowled out Canada for 214 in 48.1 overs.

Prest was supported by George Bell (57), George Thomas (52) and William Luxton (41) to take England past 300. With 3-51, Kairav Sharma was the pick of the Canada bowler. Prest, Joshua Boyden and Jacob Bethell then shared all 10 Canada wickets to strengthen England’s position at the top of Group A.

South Africa Under-19s v Uganda Under-19s

South Africa 231/9 in 50 overs (Dewald Brevis 104; Juma Miyaji 3-33) beat Uganda 110 in 33.4 overs (Isaac Ategeka 29; Liam Alder 2-13) by 121 runs.

After scoring 65 against India, Dewald Brevis hit 104 against Uganda in Match 12 of the tournament. His strokes made cricket fans nostalgic, evoking memories of A.B. de Villiers at his prime. South Africa knocked over Uganda for 110 in 33.4 after asking them to chase 232.

Barring Brevis, George Van Heerden (36) and Kaden Solomons (27) were the only South Africa batters who crossed 12. For Uganda, Juma Miyaji and Pascal Murungi took three wickets apiece. All seven South Africa bowlers picked at least a wicket to skittle out Uganda for a paltry total. Liam Alder returned excellent figures of 10-3-13-2.

Afghanistan Under-19s v Papua New Guinea Under-19s

Afghanistan 200 in 38.2 overs (Suliman Safi 62; Katenalaki Singi 4-18) beat Papua New Guinea 65 in 20.5 overs (Aue Oru 13; Izharulhaq Naveed 3-14) by 135 runs. Player of the Match: Suliman Safi.

After being bowled out for 93 against Zimbabwe, Papua New Guinea batters again put on an ordinary show against Afghanistan in Match 13. They were bowled out for 65 in 20.5 overs after restricting Afghanistan to 200.

Aue Oru (13) was the only PNG batter who reached double digits, while 21 runs of their total came from extras. Suliman Safi was adjudged Player of the Match for his 76-ball 62.
