New Zealand vs Pakistan

New Zealand 265/8 in 50 overs (Suzie Bates 126; Nida Dar 3-39) beat Pakistan 194/9 in 50 overs (Nida Dar 50; Hannah Rowe 5-55) by 71 runs. Player of the Match: Suzie Bates.

New Zealand ended the league stage of the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 with a 71-run win over Pakistan at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Pakistan could only manage 194/9 in the pursuit of 266. They still have a mathematical chance of qualification – only if both India and England lose their respective matches by colossal margins.

After being put in to bat, Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine added 31 for the opening stand before Anam Amin got the latter. Devine struck a six and a four for her 12. Bates then added 68 with Amelia Kerr, who scored 24 off 31. Amy Satterthwaite got out for a golden duck.

Bates, meanwhile, brought up her 12th ODI century – including one in each of the 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2022 World Cups – with a cracking pull off Fatima Sana. She was bowled by Nashra Sandhu for 126.

Asked to chase 266, Pakistan's top order started well but was unable to convert into something substantial. Nida Dar followed her 3-39 with a 53-ball 50, but there was no support from the other end as Hannah Rowe claimed 5-55.
