Sune Luus helped Wolvaardt put on 91, keeping the scoreboard ticking in the middle overs. Wolvaardt eventually fell for 90, while Luus got a 51-ball 52. Late hits from Marizanne Kapp and Chloe Tryon propelled South Africa to 271/5.

Australia lost both openers for just 45, but Lanning continued unfazed, and forging big partnerships with Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath. Australia cruised home in the 46th over.
