Due to their separate injuries, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and bowler Navdeep Saini will not play in the second Test against Bangladesh.
After suffering a left thumb injury in the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka, Rohit is being treated by the BCCI Medical Team.
"The Medical Team believes that the Indian skipper needs more time for the injury to heal fully before he can bat and field with his full vigour. He will keep working on his recovery, therefore he won't be able to play in the second and final Test against Bangladesh.
"Navdeep Saini is also ruled out of the second Test owing to an abdominal muscle strain. The fast bowler will now report to the NCA for further management of his injury," the BCCI said in statement on Tuesday.
