To select India's teams for the next ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Australia and the domestic T20 International series against Australia and South Africa, the All-India Senior Selection Committee convened on Monday.
India announced their 15-man roster for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 on Monday, including the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who are now healthy.
Due to individual ailments, Bumrah and Harshal were both forced to withdraw from the multi-nation tournament in the UAE. Their participation in the premier event will strengthen the team's fast bowling lineup. Along with the all-rounder Hardik Pandya, the squad also includes Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as pacers.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who suffered a right knee injury during the Asia Cup and recently underwent surgery, will be missed by the team captained by Rohit Sharma. Axar Patel, a left-hander, will take over for Jadeja as a comparable replacement. The other two specialised spinners are R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel in addition to Axar.
The fifteen members of India's team for the just finished Asia Cup 2022 are largely unchanged and follow the predicted pattern for the World Cup in Australia.
