A solitary pink-ball Test match has been added to India Women’s upcoming tour of Australia, as confirmed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Thursday. The full schedule, however, is yet to be announced by Cricket Australia (CA). Shah announced that the move was a part of BCCI’s wider commitment towards promoting women’s cricket.
Taking forward our commitment towards women's cricket, I am extremely pleased to announce that Team India @BCCIwomen will play in their first-ever pink ball day-night Test later this year in Australia.

The last time the sides faced each other in a Test match was back in 2006. Australia Women won that match by an innings and 4 runs, thanks to an all-round performance from Lisa Sthalekar. Australia Women have won four of the five Test matches between the sides, while the other was a draw.
Before that, India Women's will be flying next month for a multi-format assignment versus England. The tour kick-starts with a Test match in Bristol, from 16 June, followed by three ODIs and as many T20Is.
This will be the first instance when the Indian Women will be playing Test cricket since 2014.
Australia, meanwhile, have a bumper summer ahead, where a tour from India will be followed by the multi-format assignment against England, comprising of a Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is.
