Indian Divyang cricket team started the victory by defeating Nepal by 6 wickets.
Sachin Shiva and veteran Tikka Singh played a key role in helping the Indian team to win the first match.
In the Bangabandhu 4 Nation Physically Challenged Cricket Tournament for held at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, Indian cricket team for the Physically Challenged made a splendid start to their maiden win of the tournament by defeating Nepal's handicapped cricket team by 6 wickets today.
Today Nepal captain Ramprasad won the toss and decided to bat first. Nepal's team scored 120 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs, in which Inder Singh scored the highest 36, Abash Dholakoti 29 before being injured and retired hurt, Pradeep Rizal scored 10 runs in 19 balls.
In reply, Indian Divyang cricket team pair Aaqib Nisar and Sachin Shiva not out 54 made a great start. But the middle order batsmen were dismissed one after the other. At one point 4 wickets were lost for 45 runs. Experienced Tikka Singh 33 not out came and took charge of the situation and after that the Nepal players did not get any chance to achieve any success.
The Indian team won in the 14th over. Apart from Sachin and Tikka Singh, MS Shiva contributed 11 runs.
Inder Singh, Suman, Ramprasad and Hem took one wicket each for Nepal Divyang cricket team.
The Man of the Match award was given to Sachin Siva by Professor Abdus Sheikh Salam, President, Bangladesh Cricket Association for the Physical Challenge.
Tomorrow Indian Divyang cricket team will play its second league match against Sri Lanka Divyang cricket team. The match will start at 12:30 pm.
