The two new franchises, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, faced off in Match 4 of Indian Premier League 2022, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Gujarat won the clash by five wickets.
Mohammed Shami took three wickets in his first spell, a blow from which Lucknow recovered to reach 158/6. An unbeaten 40 from Rahul Tewatia then helped Gujarat win with two balls remaining. Gujarat Titans are now at fourth place in the points table.
