Punjab Kings suffered their first defeat of the Indian Premier League 2022. They failed to defend 138 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kolkata were reduced to 51/4, but Andre Russell slammed a 31-ball 70 not out, with eight sixes, to see them home comfortably. Earlier, Umesh Yadav took 4-23 to bowl out Punjab for 137 in 18.2 overs.
With two wins, Kolkata have now moved to the top of the points table. Punjab are at seventh place.
