Kings XI Punjab have found themselves on the right end of the results in the last couple of matches and will be hoping to do so once again when they take on table-toppers Delhi Capitals in their 10th match of the season on Tuesday. KXIP won a thriller against Mumbai Indians in the last match as they sneaked out a win even after being involved in two Super Overs. Mohammad Shami was absolutely fabulous whereas KL Rahul continued his rich vein of form. Chris Gayle played another impactful knock at No.3 and the team looks totally different since his arrival in the XI.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, managed to win their previous match against Chennai Super Kings courtesy of a Shikhar Dhawan century and an Axar Patel special in the last over. There is a big void in their batting order due to the absence of Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer but other players have stepped up quite well to make up for that gap. It will be important for them to do so once again as they take on an in-form KXIP side.
Team News
There is still no clarity on the availability of Rishabh Pant but as per reports, he is expected to sit out once again. That means Shimron Hetmyer will have to sit out as well due to combination issues whereas Alex Carey and Ajinkya Rahane continue to be the middle-order bats. There is no injury concern for KXIP though. Glenn Maxwell’s poor run of form with the bat has been concerning for them but he has been useful as a sixth bowling option. So he might continue to find a place in their XI.
