The much-awaited schedule of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has finally been released on Sunday (September 6). As decided earlier, the tournament will commence from September 19 and in the inaugural game the two finalists of last year – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings – will take each other on at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
After the tournament opener on Saturday, Dubai will host its first game on Sunday when Delhi Capitals take on Kings XI Punjab followed by the third match on Monday between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The IPL action will shift to Sharjah on Tuesday, 22nd September where Rajasthan Royals will host Chennai Super Kings. On the next day (September 23), the Kolkata Knight Riders will play their first game of IPL 13 against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi.
The 53-day tournament will witness 10-afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST (2 PM UAE Time) while the evening matches will start at 19:30 IST (6 PM UAE Time). In all, 24 matches will be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Sharjah.
Venues for the playoffs and final will be announced later.
