Three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 19 April, in Match 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Both sides are coming into this fixture by winning their latest encounters. While Rajasthan had a nerve-racking three-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC), Chennai eased past Punjab Kings (PBKS) test and secured the victory by six wickets with 26 balls to spare.
Team News
Led by MS Dhoni, Chennai boasts of the deepest batting line-up in IPL 2021. Shardul Thakur, their No. 10, had smashed 92 runs off just 57 balls in Vijay Hazare Trophy about a month and a half ago. Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad’s form, their think tank has little to worry about ahead of the Rajasthan game.
The Chennai bowling attack, too, have plenty of options. They restricted Punjab to 106 last time, thanks to an outstanding opening spell of Deepak Chahar (4-1-13-4). Dhoni, as usual, is likely to field the unchanged line-up for the third successive game in the tournament.
Rajasthan, are facing a similar difficulty at the top-order. Both Manan Vohra and Jos Buttler have failed to capitalise despite promising starts. Their bowling attack, on the other hand, seems decent as a group despite the absence of Jofra Archer. Skipper Sanju Samson may go for one change in their playing XI – bringing in Yashasvi Jaiswal in place of Vohra.
Fantasy tips
- Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis are highly dependable top-order options.
- Moeen Ali, Chris Morris and Ravindra Jadeja can return good value to your side.
- Deepak Chahar, Jaydev Unadkat and Chetan Sakariya can be handy with the ball.
