Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets to register their fifth consecutive victory of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Chasing 172, CSK got off to a rollicking start, courtesy Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad. The duo added 129 runs for the opening wicket. Rashid Khan claimed three wickets but the match had already slipped out for the Sunrisers by then. Earlier in the evening, both Manish Pandey and David Warner scored half-centuries to guide SRH to 171/3 in 20
overs. Here is how they reacted on Twitter:
Gaikwad stole the show with a 44-ball 75. He was also adjudged as the Player of the Match. He also impressed Harsha Bhogle.
Really enjoying watching Ruturaj Gaikwad play. And credit to #CSK for staying with him in spite of an indifferent start to the tournament

It was a late surge from Kane Williamson that propelled SRH to a competitive total. He scored 26 off just 10 balls. Williamson was well assisted by Kedar Jadhav who finished off things with a four and a six.
