Delhi Capitals (DC) registered their third victory of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 after chasing down 138 in 19.1 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI), with six wickets and five balls to spare. They also broke their four-match losing streak of the last season.
Amit Mishra claimed Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya in his second over to reduce MI to 77/4 in nine overs. He came back to get the better of Kieron Pollard in his third over, and Ishan Kishan in his fourth. MI could only manage 137/9 in 20 overs.
Chasing the target, Shikhar Dhawan and Steven Smith built a solid base for the batters who followed. Shimron Hetmyer and Lalit Yadav held their nerves to guide DC across the finishing line.
Orange Cap
With his 42-ball 45, Dhawan further consolidated his grip on the Orange Cap. He has amassed 231 runs in the tournament so far, with the help of two half-centuries. Rohit Sharma’s 30-ball 44 helped him rise to fifth place.
