Despite a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp, the Delhi Capitals (DC) put up a dominating performance against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their last game to maintain a mid-table position at the points table. After a day's gap, Rishabh Pant's men are taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 34 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Friday night. The match was originally supposed to have been played in Pune, but Delhi's inability to travel in the aftermath of COVID-19 cases in the camp has forced a re-allocation of venue.
This is a battle of two wicketkeeper captains, both of whom are yet to set their foot properly in this IPL 2022. Pant and Sanju Samson are yet to put up consistent with bat. However, both teams boast of in-form players who have picked up their game as this season has progressed. Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan hold the Orange and Purple Caps respectively, that too by considerable margins. David Warner and Kuldeep Yadav, on the other hand, have done brilliantly in their new home, in Delhi.
There will be quite a few match-ups in this game. Warner will be pitted against R. Ashwin, who has got him five times in T20s, while Shimron Hetmyer will have his job cut out against Kuldeep and Axar Patel.
