Lucknow Super Giants 168/6 in 20 overs
The Mumbai bowlers did well to contain the opening duo of Quinton de Kock and Rahul. Daniel Sams gave away just two runs in his first over before Rahul struck two fours in his second, while de Kock was lucky to see his catch spilled and parried away to six by Verma. But de Kock could not make the most of it, as he holed out to Rohit Sharma on the next ball.
After de Kock's six, Lucknow were unable to find a boundary for five overs. Rahul and Manish Pandey struggled to increase the tempo in the middle overs. Only when Riley Meredith came to bowl did the Lucknow batters manage two fours and a six.
However, just after Pandey got out, Rahul struck two sixes against Sams. However, he did not get support from the other end. Neither Marcus Stoinis nor Krunal Pandya lasted, while Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni struggled to break free.
Amidst all, Rahul reached his second century of the IPL 2022, with the help of 12 fours and four sixes.

Ishan Kishan's lean patch continued, as he played 20 balls without hitting a boundary. Rohit Sharma, too, struggled to find boundaries regularly, and struggled during his 31-ball 39. He eventually fell for a 31-ball 39.
Between Kishan and Rohit's dismissals, Dewald Brevis tried to ramp Mohsin Khan over deep third and holed out to Dushmantha Chameera. In the only over he bowled, Badoni got Suryakumar Yadav as his first IPL wicket to reduce Mumbai to 67/4.
Verma kept Mumbai in the game with a 27-ball 38. Kieron Pollard hung around with him for a while, but was unable to score freely. Pollard fell in the final over, when the match had already slipped out of Mumbai's hands.
