Lucknow Super Giants defeated Delhi Capitals by six runs in Match 45 of Indian Premier League 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Chasing 196, Delhi could only manage 189/7.
Mohsin Khan was adjudged as Player of the Match for 4-12, which included key wickets of David Warner, Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell. Earlier in the game, K.L. Rahul and Deepak Hooda scored fifties each to propel Lucknow to 195/3.

Rahul and Quinton de Kock added 42 in 26 balls for the opening stand. De Kock struck three fours and a six in his 13-ball 23 before getting out to Shardul Thakur. However, that was the only wicket Delhi managed in almost 15 overs of the play, as Deepak Hooda and Rahul batted ruthlessly to lift Lucknow to 137/2.
Hooda fell for a 34-ball 52, including six fours and a six. Rahul, meanwhile, pressed the gas pedal towards the end of his innings to finish on a 51-ball 77, with four fours and five sixes. Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya then took Lucknow to 195/3.
Delhi Capitals 189/7 in 20 overs
Delhi lost both openers inside three overs, but Mitchell Marsh and Pant brought them back into the game, adding 60 in the next four overs. Marsh struck three sixes and as many fours for his 20-ball 37, while Pant made 44 in 30 balls. Lalit Yadav failed again, and Pant's dismissal reduced Delhi to 120/5.
However, Powell and Axar Patel stayed put, and their timely strikes ensured Delhi stayed in the hunt. Powell scored 35 in 21 balls, while Axar remained unbeaten on a 24-ball 42, but it all went in vain.
