Match 62 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will feature Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday afternoon. Out of the race for Playoffs, this is defending champion Chennai's last match of the season, whereas table topper Gujarat will aim to continue their winning momentum before going into the playoffs.
Hardik Pandya's Gujarat have been a surprise package of IPL 2022. Playing in their inaugural season, they have won nine out of their 12 matches. Their bowling attack has been fantastic, while their batters have provided excellent support. They recalled Matthew Wade, who had failed at the top, to strengthen the middle order. Ahead of the Playoffs, they would want Pandya to return to form, at least with bat. In bowling, Lockie Ferguson missed their last match, and he is unlikely to be considered for this game too.
Chennai, on the other hand, have been through turmoil this season. Nevertheless, ever since M.S. Dhoni took charge, their performance graph has gone upwards. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have scored the bulk of their runs, at the top, while Maheesh Theekshana and Mukesh Choudhary have been the leading wicket-takers. Moeen Ali, too, has chipped in to some extent. In this fixture, they will want to put up another all-round show to end the season on a positive note.
