Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs in Match 53 of the Indian Premier League 2022 at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson chipped in with vital runs before the bowlers, led by Trent Boult, restricted Lucknow to 154/6.

Rajasthan suffered an early setback when Jos Buttler, holder of the Orange Cap, got out for 11. Jaiswal and Samson added 64 for the second wicket, but both got out when they were looking good for a bigger score. Jaiswal struck a 29-ball 41, with six fours and a six. Once Samson (32) fell, he added 26 with Devdutt Padikkal before top edging a length ball from Ayush Badoni. Padikkal kept Rajasthan going with an 18-ball 39, hitting five fours and two sixes before he was caught by Krunal Pandya off Ravi Bishnoi.
Lucknow Super Giants 154/8 in 20 overs
In response, Boult had Quinton de Kock caught and Badoni leg-before with successive balls. K.L. Rahul took 19 balls for his 10 before falling prey to Prasidh Krishna. Deepak Hooda kept Lucknow in the chase with a brilliant 39-ball 59, but did not receive support at the other end. He was stumped by Samson off Yuzvendra Chahal. Marcus Stoinis made 27 in 17 balls, but his dismissal against Prasidh sealed the game for Rajasthan.
