Mumbai Indians, the bottom-ranked team of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), a team that is fighting with a slim Playoffs hope, in Match 65, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday night.
Kane Williamson's Hyderabad are currently reeling on a five-match losing streak. With just 10 points and one more game after tonight, it is a do-or-die situation for them. Interestingly, despite this dry spell, their think-tank has not made many changes in the XI, and are likely to stick to the same formula. On the other hand, they are yet to win a match at Wankhede this season, and will be desperate to change the trend tonight.
In contrast, Mumbai have experimented a lot with their team in this season, though many of these were forced changes. They seem to have find some mojo back, especially in the bowling attack, as the tournament approaches an end. Jasprit Bumrah has regained his form, and young Hrithik Shokeen and Kumar Kartikeya have been quite impressive with ball in hand.
On the other hand, their out-of-touch openers are yet to come up with a significant performance, though Ishan Kishan has got some runs under his belt in the last few games along with Tim David in the middle-order.
Likely XIs
Mumbai Indians: Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Tilak Varma, Ramandeep Singh, Tristan Stubbs, Tim David, Hrithik Shokeen, Daniel Sams, Kumar Kartikeya, Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Kane Williamson (c), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
