K.L. Rahul will lead the Lucknow franchise in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Lucknow have also roped in Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi ahead of the mega-auction.
Until 2021, Rahul captained Punjab Kings, but he was released by them after the edition. Bishnoi represented Punjab as well, while Stoinis was with Delhi Capitals.
Lucknow, owned by RP Sanjiv Goenka Group in the auction, will pay INR 15 crores to Rahul, INR 11 crores to Stoinis, and INR 4 crores to Bishnoi.
Ahmedabad, meanwhile, have appointed Hardik Pandya as captain. Mumbai Indians released Pandya this year, thus ending a six-year association after buying him in 2015.
Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill are the other two picks. As per ESPNCricinfo, Rashid and Pandya will be paid INR 15 crores each, while Gill has been bought for INR 7 crores.
