Mumbai Indians suffered a massive blow in their faltering campaign after Suryakumar Yadav was ruled out of the rest of the Indian Premier League 2022. Yadav sustained a muscle injury during the game against Gujarat Titans, and has been advised to take a rest.
'Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm, and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,' said Mumbai Indians in a statement.
Suryakumar was in fine form this season, having racked up 303 runs in eight games. He also missed the first two games of the season when he spent almost a month at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore to recover from a hairline fracture. However, he is expected to be fit for India's upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, beginning on 9 June.
