The players and support staff of all ten IPL teams are required to reach Mumbai latest by 8 March. The Indian cricketers will have to isolate themselves for three days, while cricketers from abroad need to undergo mandatory isolation of five days.
There will be three RT-PCR tests in quarantine. Only after returning negative on all three occasions will the players be allowed to commence training.
'Teams will start practising most likely by March 14-15 onwards. Players and support staff will start coming to Mumbai around March 8 for the IPL,' sources told ANI.
The BCCI has identified five grounds across Mumbai and Pune for practice sessions.
'During the travel to Navi Mumbai and Pune, it will be ideal to have a safe passage and smooth movement to avoid delays. If any member of a team ends up testing positive for Covid-19, they are likely to be allowed quarantine in the hotel and special arrangements will be made for that scenario,' stated the source.
The IPL 2022 will begin on 26 March, and the final will be played on 27 May.
