Let us have a look at how each of the South African players fared in the three-match ODI series against Ireland.

Janneman Malan 9.5 (M 3, R 261, Ave 261, SR 98)

Fittingly the Player of the Series, Malan made 84 in the second match, and finished with a career-best unbeaten 177 in the third.

Quinton de Kock 8 (M 1, R 120, Ave 120, SR 132, C 2)

De Kock was rested for the opening two games. He came back in the third and scored a 91-ball 120. He also held two excellent catches behind the stumps.

Tabraiz Shamsi 8 (M 3, W 5, Ave 24.60, ER 4.39)

Shamsi was incisive in all three matches. He gave South Africa important breakthroughs in the middle overs. His economy rate of 4.39 was the best among either sides.

Rassie van der Dussen 7.5 (M 3, R 79, Ave 39.50, SR 80.61)

Another excellent outing for van der Dussen, who made 49 and 30 in his two innings.

Andile Phehlukwayo 6 (M 3, W 6, Ave 28, ER 6.22)

Phehlukwayo was a bit expensive but finished at the top of the wicket-takers chart.

Kagiso Rabada 5.5 (M 2, W 3, Ave 33.66, R 16, SR 133)

Rabada took three wickets in the opening two matches but missed the third. He also played a breezy cameo in the second.

Keshav Maharaj 5 (M 3, W 3, Ave 46.33, ER 4.79)

Maharaj bowled 29 overs accurately, but did not get much success.

Anrich Nortje 4 (M 2, W 1, Ave 101, ER 5.88)

Nortje extracted bounce, but Irish batters were equal to it. He only got a solitary wicket after bowling 17.1 overs.

Temba Bavuma 3 (M 3, R 13, SR 56)

Bavuma had a little opportunity to bat. He did not make full use of it.

Kyle Verreynne 3 (M 3, R 13, SR 81, C 1)

Verreynne was sharp behind the stumps in the second match, but his batting needs improvement.

David Miller 3 (M 2, R 24, Ave 24, SR 89)

Miller made a 27-ball 24 in the second match, then lost his place in the third.

Aiden Markram 2 (M 2, R 5, SR 38)

Markram fell for five in the second match and was replaced by de Kock in the third.

Lizaad Williams 2 (M 1, W 1, Ave 62, ER 7.75)

Williams replaced Rabada in the third match and returned 1-62 from eight overs.

Heinrich Klaasen 1.5 (M 1, R 3, SR 75)

Klaasen came to bat in the final phase of the South Africa innings. He did not make anything spectacular.

Lungi Ngidi 1.5 (M 1, W 0, ER 4.12)

Ngidi featured once but did not get any success in eight overs.
