South Africa have included Marco Jansen in their 17-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against India. This will be Jansen’s first assignment in limited-overs cricket, who claimed five wickets in the Boxing Day Test match last week.
Temba Bavuma will continue to lead South Africa, with Keshav Maharaj as the deputy. Quinton de Kock, who has recently retired from Test cricket, has been picked as well. However, South Africa will miss Anrich Nortje again in the ODI leg as he is still recovering from a hip injury.
Wayne Parnell and Zubayr Hamza, who were in South Africa’s squad during the aborted series against the Netherlands in November, have retained their place. Meanwhile, Dwaine Pretorius, who had an impressive T20 World Cup last year, has been recalled.
The three-match ODI series, which will be part of the ODI Super League, will begin on 19 January at the Boland Park in Paarl.
