Jos Buttler injured his right calf during the first T20I against Sri Lanka. That will keep him out of the third T20I as well as the upcoming three-ODI series.
Buttler made 68 in 55 balls to take England past a mediocre total with ease. After the match, he felt a bit of discomfort. An MRI scan later revealed a minor tear. He did not feature in the second T20I. Dawid Malan has been called up as backup for the ODI series.
England are on the verge of a whitewash in the T20Is after winning the first two games. The first T20I was a lopsided affair, where the hosts dominated from the word go, and hunted down a 130-run target with 17 balls remaining.
In the second, they lost four wickets in 6.3 overs but Sam Billings, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran held their nerves to take their team past the finishing line.
The last T20I series will be played in Southampton on Saturday, 26 June. The ODI series will commence on 29 June.
