Simon Katich has resigned as the assistant coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022.
As per The Australian, Katich was not pleased with how things went in the auction room, as Sunrisers Hyderabad did not stick to their pre-auction plans.
Last season, Hyderabad sacked David Warner as captain, and even left him out of the playing XI. They finished at the bottom of the points table, and Trevor Bayliss and Brad Haddin resigned from coaching roles.
Director of cricket Tom Moody then stepped in as head coach, and brought Katich to his team. Katich has earlier worked with Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Kane Williamson will lead the Sunrisers in IPL 2022. They have acquired, among others, Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran, in the auction.
