LNJ Bhilwara Kings, a Legends League Cricket (LLC) team, announced on Friday that Lalchand Rajput has been named head coach for the forthcoming T20 league season.
Rajput offers a wealth of administrative and coaching experience to the LNJ Bhilwara Group-owned team. He has coached the Zimbabwe and Afghanistan teams, as well as the Mumbai Indians in the 2008 IPL.
Along with administrative posts in the Mumbai Cricket Association, he has held a number of other significant jobs, including manager of the Indian side that won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa (MCA).
We have a total of six matches in the league stage; we are analysing the strengths and weaknesses of each team and will come up with a winning strategy. I also hope that we are able to bring out the best in the players, with Irfan Pathan serving as the team captain. "It is a great opportunity to coach senior players, and I am thankful to the LNJ Bhilwara Group for offering me this role," said Rajput.
As our team's head coach, Mr. Rajput is warmly welcomed. Under his leadership and coaching, we anticipate the club to win championships in the first season. His broad range of experience in the world of cricket and his excellent rapport with players will be a wonderful benefit to the team. We are thrilled to have him on board for this Legends League Cricket season.
Riju Jhunjhunwala, team owner of LNJ Bhilwara Kings, said, "LNJ Bhilwara Group has always delivered value to all its stakeholders. Being part of a sporting event of this calibre is new to us, but we are confident to excite cricket fans with our team's performance this year and win their hearts."
Beginning on September 16, the second season of LLC will have the biggest names in cricket taking the pitch and competing against one another. Four clubs will compete in the league, and throughout the 12-match league round, they will face off twice.
