Malaysia Cricket is proud to announce that it has inked a two-year partnership with India’s premier digital sports destination for all fans – FanCode.
FanCode has acquired exclusive rights to live-stream Malaysia’s cricket matches to over 15 million of its subscribers throughout India, and the exclusive rights will span through 2021 and 2022. This partnership marks the first time wherein exclusive rights have been awarded. And with this partnership, Malaysia Cricket sees exciting times ahead as all broadcasting will be carried out by Malaysia Cricket’s in-house broadcast team.
The in-house production team will be shadowed by students from the neighbouring universities which will provide students the opportunities to further master the art of the industry with first-hand on the job experiences.
MCA President Mr. Mahinda Vallipuram said, “This partnership augurs well for Malaysia Cricket, as now, through this premier digital multi-sports platform, we can showcase the passion and quality of our game to India and the Indian sub-continent.”
Under these exclusive rights, FanCode will stream a total of five hundred (500) matches to its users. With this signing marks a start of an active engagement to live stream it matches nationally and internationally across the globe.
The cricket landscape in Malaysia is rapidly growing, and through this partnership, Malaysia will definitely strengthen its fan engagement and participation programme across the country.
In addition, Mahinda Vallipuram said, “I believe that this partnership will open doors to greater involvement with corporate bodies and tourism agencies.” This, he said, “is largely owing to the fact that there is now a platform for us to become partners with a return of investment through targeted marketing programmes both nationally and internationally, keeping in mind that cricket is the second most watched sport in the world, with a reach of more than two billion people.”
Speaking on the partnership, Prasana Krishnan, Co-Founder of FanCode, said, “India’s love for cricket is well-known, and we are committed to bringing cricketing action from all over the world to fans in India. Our partnership with Malaysia is a step in this direction and we are thrilled to showcase the best of Malaysia cricket.”
This year, positive developments pertaining to the reach of the COVID-19 vaccines augurs well for Malaysia Cricket. Malaysia Cricket is optimistic that the T10 Bash scheduled to be held from 26-28 March 2021, as well as the previously halted T20 Super Series, scheduled to be continued from 30-31 March 2021, can be played, pending approval from the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Malaysia.
