The United States of America completed a clean-sweep over Papua New Guinea with a convincing 134-run victory in the second and final ODI. Jaskaran Malhotra became only the second cricketer to smash six sixes in an over in ODIs and the fourth to do this in international cricket. The first three were Herschelle Gibbs (ODIs, 2007), Yuvraj Singh (T20Is, 2007), and Kieron Pollard (T20Is, 2021).

Malhotra slammed 173 not out, the first hundred for the USA, to drive his team to 271/9 in 50 overs. PNG were then bowled out to 137. Abhishek Paradkar took five wickets.

Set in to bat first, the USA got off a poor start, losing three wickets for just 27 runs. Steven Taylor, half-centurion of the first ODI, started well but fell prey to Chad Soper. Sushant Modani got run out, and Monank Patel was pinned lbw by Nosaina Pokana.

Aaron Jones joined Malhotra in the middle, and the duo added 45 for the fourth wicket before Jones got run out, but Nisarg Patel played a perfect foil to Malhotra. He made only 20, while Malhotra scored the rest of the 79-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Malhotra remained unbeaten on 173, and hit 16 sixes and four fours in his innings.

A target of 272 proved too much for PNG, who were skittled out for 137. Jessy Singh got Tony Ura to provide the USA with the first breakthrough. Lega Siaka showed some resistance, adding 30 off 29 deliveries, but the middle-order crumbled under pressure.

Norman Vanua was another batter to reach 30, and the rest of them couldn't even cross 20. Paradkar returned impressive figures of 9-2-26-4. Netravalkar picked two wickets.

Brief scores: United States of America 271/9 in 50 overs (Jaskaran Malhotra 173*; Chad Soper 2-41) beat Papua New Guinea 137 in 37.1 overs (Norman Vanua 30; Abhishek Paradkar 4-26) by 134 runs.
