Smriti Mandhana of India was the most expensive purchase at the inaugural Women's Premier League auction in Mumbai, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) paying INR 3.4 crore for her services.
According to a report, Mandhana is set to earn twice as much as the highest-paid players in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after the RCB paid him a whopping amount in Monday's auction.
The top players in the PSL are chosen through a draught, which means their earnings are limited. The Platinum category is the highest tier, with salaries ranging from $130,000 (1.1 crore) to $170,000. (1.4 crore).
Babar, who played for Peshawar Zalmi in the Platinum division, was traded for a season salary of $1,50,000 (PKR 3,60,000). (3 Crore 60 lakh).
Babar's PSL 2023 salary is approximately INR 1.23 crore, based on the current USD to Indian rupee conversion rate.
Mandhana was also the first player to enter the auction on Monday, with a starting bid of INR 50 lakh. The Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians were locked in a fierce battle for her services before the former was able to secure her services, offering an opening as well as a captaincy option.
