Welsh Fire 150/6 in 100 balls (du Plooy 43; Hartley 2-11) lost to Manchester Originals 153/3 in 95 balls (Clarke 58, Munro 33*) by 7 wickets with 5 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Joe Clarke.
Manchester Originals beat Welsh Fire by seven wickets in Match 12 of the Men’s Hundred in Cardiff. Chasing 151, Joe Clarke (58 runs in 31 balls) and Phil Salt (30 in 26) put on a dominant 94-run opening-wicket stand from 48 balls. Salt played second fiddle to Clarke in this partnership before Colin Munro (33* off 27) ended Fire’s unbeaten record with five balls to spare.
Earlier, Leus du Plooy had top-scored with 22-ball 43 in Fire’s 153/3 after they opted to bat. Matthew Critchley (30* off 17) also played a breezy cameo, but in the end, it was not enough.
Northern Superchargers v Oval Invincibles, Headingley
Oval Invincibles 127/6 in 100 (Roy 52*; Rashid 3-13) lost to Northern Superchargers 128/4 in 97 balls (Lynn 48; Mahmood 2-19) by 6 wickets with 3 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Harry Brook.
Harry Brook continued his fine form to hand Northern Superchargers a six-wicket win against Oval Invincibles, in Match 13 of the Men’s Hundred, at Headingley. Brook hit five fours and a six in his 30-ball 47 not out to help Superchargers chase down 128 with three balls to spare. He added 74 with Chris Lynn (48), though the latter struggled throughout his 48-ball stay.
Earlier, Adil Rashid had returned 3-13 to restrict Invincibles 127/6 after they chose to bat. Two of Rashid’s wickets came in successive balls. Jason Roy top-scored for Invincibles with 52 not out, but he could not find his rhythm as wickets kept falling in regular intervals.
