Southern Brave v Northern Superchargers, Southampton
Northern Superchargers 128/6 in 100 balls (Vilas 35*; Briggs 2-28) lost to Southern Brave 131/5 in 95 balls (de Kock 72*; Rashid 2-19) by 5 wickets with 5 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Quinton de Kock.
Quinton de Kock’s calculated 45-ball 72 not out powered Southern Brave to a five-wicket win over Northern Superchargers, in Match 21 of the Men’s Hundred, in Southampton.
Chasing 129, de Kock hit nine fours and a six after coming to open to lead Brave to the victory with five balls to spare. He was ably supported by Paul Stirling (20 in 12 balls) at the top, but did not get much support after that. Adil Rashid and Adam Lyth claimed two wickets each for the Superchargers.
Earlier, the Superchargers had lost wickets in regular intervals in their 128/6 after they opted to bat. Dane Vilas tops-scored with a 24-ball 35, and David Willey made 24 off 18 balls.
