London Spirit vs Oval Invincibles, Lord’s

Match 5 of the 2021 Men’s Hundred between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.

Manchester Originals v Birmingham Phoenix, Old Trafford

Birmingham Phoenix 87 in 84 balls (Moeen 15; Parkinson 4-9) lost to Manchester Originals 89/4 in 73 balls (Buttler 30; Moeen 1-15) by 6 wickets with 27 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Matt Parkinson.

Matt Parkinson returned 4-9 to help Manchester Originals beat Birmingham Phoenix by six wickets, in Match 6 of the Men’s Hundred, at Old Trafford.

Batting first, Phoenix only managed 87. They became the first team to be bowled out in the tournament, that too in only 84 balls. Parkinson was ably supported by Calvin Harrison (2-18) and Carlos Brathwaite (2-13).

Chasing a paltry 88, Jos Buttler anchored the Originals innings with a 31-ball 30 before Liam Livingstone (1-20) bowled him. With 29 balls remaining, Originals only needed 3 runs at that stage, and Brathwaite did not take much time to hit the winning runs.
