The Originals, meanwhile, bounced back after losing their opening encounter. They defeated Birmingham Phoenix by six wickets on 25 July. Matthew Parkinson picked four wickets to skittle Phoenix for 87 runs. The Originals chased down the target in 73 balls. They are positioned third, just below Trent Rockets.
Welsh Fire have won the only contest they played, against Northern Superchargers. They will now face Southern Brave on 27 July.
Northern Superchargers and Southern Brave occupy the last two spots of the points table. Both sides have lost the only fixture they have played so far.
