Alex Hales remained unbeaten on 40 to guide Trent Rockets to the second victory of their season. They chased down a target of 133 runs set up by Northern Superchargers, in 94 balls.
Opting to bat, the Superchargers lost three wickets for just 38. Matthew Carter struck early, having Chris Lynn caught by Rashid Khan. Ben Stokes hit a four off his Test captain Joe Root but soon became Carter’s second wicket.
Harry Brook and John Simpson steadied the innings, adding 61 for the fourth wicket. Brook made 38 in 30 balls, while Simpson's contribution was worth 42. But the Superchargers lost the plot after Brook’s dismissal. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Brydon Carse and David Willey all got ducks. Rashid Khan and Marchant de Lange picked up three wickets each.
Chasing 133 proved a tough task for the Rockets. From 20/0, Mujeeb and Adil Rashid reduced the Rockets to 20/3.
Hales held the innings from one end. With a little help from Lewis Gregory (14 off 8) and Rashid Khan (25 off 12), they chased down the target with six balls to spare.
