Preview

Mumbai Indians look to seal qualification as they head into Royal Challengers Bangalore in an elite fixture in the last half of the IPL 2020. With Rohit Sharma still absent, the Mumbai team is expected to go in with Kieron Pollard as captain yet again and will hope to seal their qualification.

In the points table, Royal Challengers Bangalore are still in the top three with 14 points, and they were benefitted by Delhi’s loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad. RCB will still know they need a win here.

Team news and predicted XI

MI are expected to try and remain unchanged until they ensure qualification. Unless Rohit Sharma is fit and ready to go, the chances of which appear slim, MI will field the same line-up in all probability.

RCB, on the other hand, might go in with a change on the bowling front with Navdeep Saini injured and unlikely to play. Umesh Yadav might get a look in with Saini absent.

MI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard (c), Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah.

RCB: Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers (wk), Gurkeerat Singh, Chris Morris, Washington Sundar, Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini/Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal

Fantasy tips

  • Abu Dhabi is Mumbai’s paradise and they have scored an average of 187 here compared to a much lesser score by others. As such MI batsmen are good picks.
  • While Virat Kohli is a decent pick, it is safer to not captain him for this game. AB de Villiers is a good choice as captain, especially if you are joining grand leagues as people tend to associate him and Mumbai with Krunal dismissing him.
  • Krunal and Hardik are good picks especially with the latter finding form last game.
  • Mumbai batsmen are brutal on spinners and leaving Chahal out may not be a bad idea.
