Mohammad Hasnain has been suspended from bowling after his action was found illegal at the ICC-accredited laboratory in Lahore.
Hasnain's action was reported by the umpire Gerard Abood when he was playing for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League 2021/22. He was due to be tested in Australia, but was recalled before that by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the Pakistan Super League.
A report by Lahore University of Management Sciences found that Hasnain's elbow extension exceeded the 15-degree limit. The PCB will appoint a bowling coach to help the 21-year-old fast bowler rectify his action.
Hasnain played the first three games for Quetta Gladiators, but will not be allowed to participate further.
'Mohammad Hasnain is an asset for Pakistan and one of the very few bowlers to consistently click 145kmp,' the PCB statement said. 'As such, and keeping his future and Pakistan's interest at the forefront, the PCB, on the recommendation of the HBL PSL 2022 Technical Committee, has decided he will not be allowed to continue to participate in the HBL Pakistan Super League.'
